Shed & Flower bed!!!

Sunday, May 9th, 2010

We finally got our shed that we have been wanting for so long a few weeks ago. In that same weekend we got the east side of the house flower bed planted. Beka planted Hostas, Ciesta Plum, Salvia and Phlox. She was most excited about her Hostas. Hopefully they will survive all of this cold weather we have been having.

Hot Tub!

HotTub01HotTub02

So our 10th wedding anniversary is coming up in December and we talked about going on a longer cruise. We went on a 3 day 2 night cruise about 4 years ago and have wanted to go again ever since. But since we found out that the baby would be born around August we figured that we wouldn’t be going anywhere with a newborn. So in comes the Hot Tub. Now this is something that we have talked about even longer than the cruise. We always said we would get one in our last house, and never did. When we built our new house we added extra cement, wired for it, and had it all prepped. Well we finally made the plunge, literally. We got it from Clear Springs Spas in Orem. We have had it just over 3 weeks now and I think that I have only not been in it 3 nights. I love it! We keep it at about 96-97 degrees so that Beka was still able to get in and enjoy it as well. With the summer nights being fairly warm it has been really nice. Just warm enough, but not too hot for Beka.

gardenboxes
These are the sweet garden boxes that Beka had me build. I’m actually pretty proud of them. She saw them on HGTV.com and so I went to the Home Depot and got me some wood. Was able to build them for about $60 a piece. She wanted 5, but I only had the strength and time for 3. We planted corn, cantaloupe, pumpkins, tomatoes, cucumbers, green beans, jalapenos, cilantro, onions, and strawberries. I wish I could say that they are doing well but we are first time veggie growers and they are struggling a bit.

curbing02curbing01landscaping02landscaping01fence01trenching

Well we are almost there. Today they got the rest of the backyard leveled out and then they got the curbing installed. The fence is all done and we are ready to drop some sod on Saturday. They are going to install all the sprinkler heads tomorrow. All we can hope for at this point is that the rain holds off for us.

Cement Ya’ll!

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

They started preping for the cement on Monday. They dug the trench for the 3″ pipe so we can run the water pipe back for sprinklers. They also trenched for the gutter pipe and burried that. Then on Tuesday they came and cut the gutter down so the whole thing is open to drive on. Today they came and poured all the cement. It looks fantastic! We can’t drive on it for a little bit but it will be great when it is dried. I’m really excited about my basketball standard. It has been a long time since I have had one and I can’t wait. Will be fun to play with Tyler too!

Christmas Setup!

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

While I was working this weekend, Beka and Tyler got Christmas all set up in the house. They got the tree up and all decorated. Made it start to feel like home. Tyler is holding the new ornament for this year. A Y football…Shocking! The boy loves his Cougars and loves his football.

Garage Shelves!

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

James came down on Saturday and helped me build some pimpin’ shelves in the garage. We also put up my workbench as well. He showed me how to suspend the shelves from the ceiling using chain. they are super strong. We were both able to hang from them without it even moving. Woooo!

All Moved In!

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Well we got all moved over the weekend.  We got keys at 3:30pm at our final walk through and then we started moving the apt stuff on Thursday night.  My dad, Mykl, Leandro, and Nick all came over and helped us clear out the apt.  We were able to get all but a couple things moved over to the house that night.

Friday we both took off and spent the day unpacking and having things delivered.  We got the Washer and Dryer, entertainment center, and bedroom set all delivered and set up.  Mykl and I re-wired the mechanical room and installed the surround sound speakers.  We got the DirecTV and Qwest internet all set up as well.  Jechelle, our realtor came over and brought us lunch and then stayed to help Beka unpack.  We got almost everything unpacked and put in place before bringing in the storage unit stuff.

Saturday we met at the storage unit to complete the move.  Mykl, Trent, Dave, Dan, Jim, James, Leandro, Nick, Ray, Tommy, and Angela all showed up and we loaded up the truck in about an hour.  Drove it over to the house and had it unloaded in about 30 minutes.  We started putting together a few things and putting more stuff away.  I bought some storage racks and assembled them in the crawl space, and then moved a bunch of the baby clothes and boxes down to the racks.

Thank you to everyone that helped us out this weekend and throughout our several moves, we greatly appreciate it!  I will get some new pictures posted tonight of the final product with us all moved in.

Countertops…Finally!

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Today we finally got countertops. This means that we also set our final walkthrough date. Which also means that we have a date that we are all done. Our final walkthrough will be Monday. We should be receiving keys in the late afternoon on November 20th. It is cool to see the countertops finally. Before all we got to see was a 4×4 sample square. All of the countertops look fantasic. They will be coming tomorrow to finish all the plumbing and mirrors.
