Tyler’s Train Ride

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

After dropping Chris off at the airport on Saturday, Tyler and I went for a train ride! We took FrontRunner from Salt Lake to Layton. We ate lunch at Doug and Emmy’s (well, it was breakfast at lunch time, they have the best scones!) and then caught the train back to Salt Lake. He loved it and has been talking about it ever since!

2nd Floor Framing, Day 2

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Sorry, the pictures aren’t that great. The sun was setting as we arrived at the house. It is amazing what they can get done in one day! On this day they put up all of the exterior walls and all of the interior ones! The roof is next.

2nd Floor Framing

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

This is going up quick. If you blink, or miss a day getting on here you miss a lot. Today they installed some rough stairs and put down the second floor. I am heading out of town next week so I will be relying on Beka to update us all. I’m sure she will do great. This sure has been fun going over to the house everyday to see our house go up piece by piece. I was working late tonight and so I went over to the house after dark tonight. I climbed up into where my bedroom will be, and realized that we have un-blocked view to the Mt Timp Temple. It was a spectacular view. We picked a great lot. Unless they build a massive building behind us, we should have a great view for quite some time.

1st Floor Framing!

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Today they finished up framing in the crawl space, put down the 1st floor, and have half of the walls up.  As you can see, they need to fix the cement on our back patio.  We wanted it to start where the bay window stopped, not under it!  We are still 2 days ahead of schedule!

Framing Started Ya’ll!

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

So I got an e-mail yesterday during church from our sales chick, Tiffany. She informed me that our dates had changed, but for the better. Instead of starting the framing on October 1st, they were going to start on Sept. 24th. A week early! Then today on my way home from work I thought I would stop by and check out the house. They were only suppose to seal the concrete today, but as you can see from the above pictures, they did a little more than seal the concrete. We have wood, and lots of it! They have started framing today and they can’t be stopped. Imagine our suprise to have framing started a week and a half early. You won’t hear any complaining coming from us apt dwellers. I rushed home to get our camera, just to find out that our internet was down for the 80th time in 6 weeks. Lucky for me we have the best realtor in the entire world. Actually she technically isn’t our realtor anymore, but a super friend. She lets me borrow her Air card everytime my internet goes down, which goes down quite often. Anyway, we are super stoked to get this show on the road. Can’t wait to see what they do tomorrow!

Driveway!

Monday, September 22nd, 2008

They poured the rest of our concrete on Friday. Driveway, garage, side man door, and back patio. We are moving right along.

Time for Concrete!

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

Looks like we are right on schedule. They put in the water, sewer, and electric pipes yesterday, and today they put down the gravel for the concrete pour. Looks like they are going to pour the driveway, sidewalk, garage, and little piece for the man door out the side of the garage. I don’t think they are going to pour the cement for the back patio yet. After tomorrow, they seal the cement on Monday and then we wait roughly a week for everything to set. Framing starts on October 1st. I can’t wait. Hopefully it will come really fast. Time to get back to owning a house and having all of our stuff again. And did I mention I want my HD DirecTV back. Oh how I miss it. I will have to post a pic of my current set up. I have hung my outdoor HD antenna from the ceiling in the apartment. Classic!

All filled in!

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Today they filled in all the holes. The schedule this week has us getting our plumbing and electrical trenched to the house. Then we should get the rest of our cement. We need our driveway, man door slab, and our 16×10 slab in the back for the patio. They should be setting up for that tomorrow or thursday. It is on the schedule to have that all poured by Friday. And then they will be sealing the cement on Monday. Hopefully they move that water meter soon cuz I really don’t want it in my drive way. :) After Monday we wait. They are set to start framing between October 1st and October 8th. The tentative completion date is November 24th 2008. That’s right a little over 2 months away. They don’t mess around. This is all dependant on a smooth work schedule. So unfortuately for you skiiers I will be hoping for a warm winter till I get moved in. And what better way to spend your Thanksgiving holiday than to move me into my new house. That means you Dad!

Time to Dry!

Friday, September 12th, 2008

I think we wait now. I don’t think there is anything on the schedule until next week, so I think we just wait for it all to dry now. They took off the foundation wall molds, but that looks like all they did yesterday.
